With origins from Mexico, upbringing in San Diego, studies at the Parsons School of design, and a runner-up prize in the 2018 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund under his belt, Jonathan Cohen is one of the ultra-promising designers characterized by an eclectic style.
Inspired by traditional Mexican rugs, he created a FW19 collection full of color and signature botanical prints. He layers them in a magnificent way, creating asymmetries and motif clashes. The result is boho chic in a modern sense.
From Katie Perry to actress Laura Dern and journalist/author Elaine Welteroth, A-listers love his dresses, and the same applies to everyday women, all confident and beautiful in their own way. He is in tune with the roomy silhouettes and bright colors that are of the moment. Raw edges and other details give the looks a artisanal quality.
Since 2011 Jonathan Cohen and his business partner Sarah Leff are slowly building up a very interesting brand that values originality, high quality, and attention to detail. Looking forward to their runway show at the upcoming NYFW!
