Designer duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia are definitely the masters of asymmetry and their sharp daring cuts – including plunging necklines and high hem slits – are one more proof that they are pushing the envelop in terms of pattern-making but also in terms of what is regarded to be wearable in our days. Their tartan pieces with references to heritage fabric weavers as well as the embellished layers in rebellious evening looks are already making waves among the fashionistas who attended the show with a great degree of excitement. Couture elements borrowed from their ongoing tenure at Oscar de la Renta are always the key to an avant-garde luxurious wardrobe and collection. A dark palette coincided with bold reds and a bit of blue. Off-the-shoulder neckline is something you can dare in winter when protected under a coat. Attendees, despite windy weather, were having fun with the dazzling oeuvres on the runway, and they are ready to add some looks to their next season wishlist. Hope to see some of the maxi pieces on the red carpet too!
Needless to say that I want to buy more than one of their new knits with chunky or sleek turtlenecks and various heritage-inspired motifs – also the logoed ones. Plus I’m having a huge dilemma between checked and pinstriped ensembles. Need them all!
