In Thom Browne’s surrealist universe and couture-level extravaganza, nothing is off-limits. For his FW21 collection, he presented a video featuring Former Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn dressed up in the mountains, black, white, and gold being the only colors in these scenes. She does what she knows best in a film that shows nostalgia, emotions, natural beauty, symbolism, and incredibly crafted clothes in a whimsical mix. It’s how we aspire to glam up in the snow, wearing non-slippery high-heel bright gold boots, and layering a padded gold evening gown over a tuxedo. These are weather-proof red carpet looks, the ones I’ve been dreaming of wearing at the NYFW for countless seasons, when it snows of course, in February! These boots are definitely mine. The padded gown as well, and all this extraordinary tailoring, corsetry, pleating, embellishment, and more, are what we fashionistas crave on heavy-snow special occasions. So thankful for that!
