Idan Cohen inspired many people with his bold attitude and statement during his recent FW15 show; a NYC debut he charged with a deeply emotional moment on a very romantic day. Love and glamour infused the whole collection presented at Lincoln Center to a vibrant audience.
Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, he is known in his home country for his bridal atelier and elegant, sensual eveningwear. On February 14th (St. Valentine’s), the designer realized two of his dreams – marrying his partner Elad Borenstein at the first ever Fashion Week wedding, followed by his first ever fashion show in New York City. The wedding featured singing by “Nashville” duo Lennon & Maisy, who also sat front row at the show.
Daring enough to share his personal moment with the rest of the fashionable world, the designer matched this celebratory mood with impactful eveningwear (gowns, bodysuits and cocktail dresses), dazzling enough to impress everybody in the room.
Strategically embellished see-through and ethereal chiffon gowns, delicious pastels and neutrals, sexy cut-outs, structure interacting with fluidity, along with subtle makeup and a simple hairstyle, composed a fresh, youthful version of Hollywood glamour that is wearable and edgy at the same time. I would describe it as opulent sultriness!
Cohen’s inspiration for the collection was femininity, and the woman’s body. He really wants to make women feel confident about their assets, shining bright on every single special occasion! The show featured hair by Marc Mena for Warren Tricomi, makeup by Regan Rabanal for MAC Cosmetics, styling by Masha Orlov, nails by Pattie Yankee and music by The Misshapes.
VIP attendees included Leigh Lezark (The Misshapes), Lennon & Maisy, Miss J. Alexander, Kristen Taekman (Real Housewives of NY), Shanola Hampton (Shameless) and more.
Congratulations to the designer for his personal bliss and professional success! This is definitely a great turning point in his life! Looking forward to seeing more of his breathtaking creations on the red carpet!
Love!!!
