We’re always looking for new ideas on how to dress up cool and how to stand out in effortless looks. Sometimes we also need value-for-money items – especially when our choices are very modern – and we want to update our avant-garde wardrobe every now and then. I found SKINGRAFT, this new amazing emerging fashion label, very fresh and ideal for edgy fashionistas.
SKINGRAFT recently made a move to NYC, opening a retail store on Prince Street, as well as showing their Spring 2014 collection on the runway during New York Fashion Week this past September. The label will return to NYFW this February and People’s Revolution will be handling the production & PR for the show.
The collection, including Women’s, Men’s & Accessories, consists of easy-to-wear statement pieces based on contrasts, structural forms, bodycon designs, and eccentric prints. At first sight, it’s mostly about partywear, but looking closer you’ll find many things that can be adopted all day long! Pay a visit to this super hip store and you’ll realize that it was worth it!
This season, it seems that the collection is inspired by sports and the biker culture. Leather is used extensively especially in paneled pieces that feature also silk, cotton, and lycra for perfect fit! Monochrome pieces are accentuated by great design, and the ‘complexity of simplicity’ the brand introduces. My personal favorite from the collection is the lambskin leather Cropped Bomber Jacket because it’s high-quality and can be combined with almost everything!
