Dur Doux Spring/Summer 2022: Post-Pandemic Cheer

Dur Doux pronounced (dur “do”), translates to Hard/Soft. The label was built on the concept of wearability with an avant-garde sensibility. The brand’s signature consists of unexpected shapes, details, and fabrics. The essence is strong, sensual, and feminine and gives a powerful edge to sophistication. A unique balance is created through the interplay of hard and soft elements. For SS22, the vision is joyful and artistic.

Where ‘Land Meets Water’- ‘Terre Et Eau’ better known as the Coastline or Seashore, is an ethereal, mystical line/area where land merges with the sea or ocean to form a boundary between the two. The ocean shore has magical geologic features that are fluid and filled with poignant colors, unique physical forms/textures, and animal life.

‘Terre Et Eau’ is a collection of 25 Looks that embody an intense desire to move out of the closed-off “pandemic mode” and embrace an expansive ‘new normal’. Fully energized, filled with fun and anticipation. The Collection uses eco-friendly fabrications of cotton sateen, silks, and linen. The color palette includes hues of orange, calming blues, plant-based greens, creamy shades of butter, and earthy browns. It is an inspired collection of beautiful, upscale ‘relaxed luxury’ garments with a coastal esthetic. “Terre Et Eau” offers tops, skirts, pants, jackets, dusters, dresses, and of course the DUR DOUX trademark “a Taste of Tulle”.

The runway looks were accessorized by a one-of-kind jewelry collection designed exclusively for Dur Doux by Sophie Blake NY. It is an upscale contemporary accessories label inspired by architecture, geometry, and art. Pieces are carefully handcrafted in New York City using cutting-edge techniques and the highest quality materials.

Another exciting element of the New York Fashion Runway Show was the debut of the label’s first accessory offering: ‘The Cunilla Handbag”. With a keen focus on balancing sustainability with luxury, it created all-season bags of jute and bamboo that can serve as foundational pieces for women’s wardrobes.
