For those who only know the Greek island of Mykonos as a crazy party destination, I will add that it is a great location for high fashion and art shopping. To the global-scale designer boutiques and art galleries, the founder of Off-White came to add his own boutique which is the first the rule-breaking fashion brand opens in Europe.
Virgil Abloh caused frenzy in the cosmopolitan island at the night of the store’s opening. He posted the newly coveted clear plastic suitcase afloat a pool, and showed the world custom Mykonian flooring and similarly themed beachwear collection. T-shirts and other coveted pieces were sold out. I was there but didn’t buy anything more than what I’m already having from the brand, including three bags, sequined socks, the belt, and the rest. Yet I’m already thinking of of grabbing a dress for the upcoming NYFW! Mykonos has seen many great fashion openings lately including Nammos Village’s Dior and Gucci boutiques. Looking forward to shopping more in the near future! If you are fashion savvy, just visit the island!
