Taking inspiration from nature, where the males of various animal species are often more vibrantly colored and flamboyant in their feathering or furs, Leonovich desired to create a collection that would bring color and unexpected craftsmanship to menswear. Fix and Fax are the designer’s beloved pet rats and the basis for a series of paintings in which Leonovich imagined the pair as a modern version of Frank Sinatra’s rat pack, imagining them in situations that range from nightclubbing to attending the Oscars. These paintings became the basis for the prints featured in the Fall 2019 as well as the spirit Leonovich hopes to inject into her latest collection. Fall 2020 utilizes raw silk yarns from India, which are transformed into handcrafted knitwear; sheer organza, nylon and pop art printed stretch fabrications.

Leonovich may be a menswear newcomer but she is no stranger to the world of fashion. Since the early 2000s, she showcased her daring experimentation during has shown her collections on runways in Paris, Rome, Milan, Moscow and New York City in womenswear collections that abstracted the human body into true works of art. Born and raised in Russia, she graduated from the Fashion Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow in 1995 and went on to study at Studio Bercot in Paris and at the Instituto de Europeo Design in Italy. Leonovich was able to further extend her craft by studying at the Saga Furs Institute of Design in Denmark in 2000.
