Are you ready for the 9th Athens Xclusive Designers Week? It’s taking place March 19-22 at Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Center (103-105 Sygrou Avenue) and is considered as an avant-garde fashion event presenting international Greek designer collections for the next season. Greek talents, upcoming and established, with careers that expand out of the Greek borders, together with famous guest designers from abroad, prove that Athens can be a fashion city with international impact. AXDW will host a large number of impressive Fall/Winter 2011/12 shows combined with exhibitions, contests and other happenings. Have a look at the schedule on AXDW’s official site. Among others, rising fashion design star Indashio from New York will be there to showcase his work. For AXDW, it’s the first time that fashion accessories shows will be held as well. The second day will be dedicated to the New Designers (shows and contest) with the participation of 10 fresh and promising artists. It’s very unique, since the whole thing does not involve catwalks inside tents but a spacious building with a lobby, catwalk, backstage and party-time area. Don’t skip the “Fashion Wisdom Exhibition” with iconic famous designer mottos, worthy to be cited and helpful in understanding fashion history. You will also have the chance to get Greek vintage treasures from the boutique.
