Khaite‘s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, unveiled at the inaugural KHAITE store, delves into the theme of transformation, reflecting the brand’s own evolution and the mature, powerful woman it epitomizes. Power, in this context, is effortlessly embraced and exuded.
Situated in a historic building on 165 Mercer Street, the flagship store echoes SoHo’s artistic legacy. Once the playground of artists crafting their identities in bright, spacious lofts, SoHo’s influence is evident. Architect Griffin Frazen took inspiration from KHAITE’s origins, creating interiors marked by steel, concrete, and glass, with an emphasis on rawness and authenticity over adornment. The space comes alive with shifting natural light and movement, emphasizing its ever-evolving essence.
KHAITE, known for juxtaposing contrasting elements, combines elements of masculine and feminine, strength and delicacy, and tradition and innovation. Every piece, carefully crafted, offers a harmonious blend of opposites, while maintaining a distinct sensuality and effortlessness.
Established in 2016 in New York by Catherine Holstein, KHAITE, whose name is inspired by the Greek term for “long, flowing hair,” continually refines its offerings, producing timeless pieces marked by top-tier materials and distinctive details.
Famed for creating enduring, coveted pieces, KHAITE broadened its horizons by introducing accessories and footwear during its Fall/Winter 2019 runway showcase. The brand, always at the intersection of transformation and timelessness, remains a touchstone in the world of fashion.
