LoveShackFancy FW23: Evolution of Girliness

A whimsical path of pink adornments directed guests to LoveShackFancy‘s FW23 Presentation at the Plaza Hotel, a scene brimming with roses in hues of red, white, and pink, as well as numerous brand enthusiasts. Since its inception in 2013 by Rebecca Hessel Cohen, the brand experienced a surge in popularity during the pandemic, notably among GenZ fashionistas.

Starting with merely three dress designs—Love, Shack, and Fancy—Cohen has since inaugurated 12 stores post-2020. Her creations immerse loyal customers in a realm dominated by pink embellishments and playful details. The FW23 collection echoed the idea of maturity and growth. Cohen described the brand’s evolution, with the modern LoveShackFancy woman being more adventurous and having a newfound edge. Drawing from her educational days in London, Cohen’s designs perhaps resonate with young women contemplating overseas studies.

This season introduced a broader pants selection, coupled with distinct double-breasted blazers, coats adorned with pink trims, and edgier elements like gunmetal sparkles, unfinished touches, and leather pieces. Striving for “flawed brilliance”, LoveShackFancy’s designs exude a visually captivating charm with a slight deviation from the norm. Noteworthy was a custom-made bridal piece crafted from recycled table linens and lace, along with sequined outfits, asymmetrical skirts, and mini attire complemented by towering footwear.
