A very exciting fashion show was waiting for us a few days before. Mi-Ro, the sophisticated Greek designer couple presented a collection of exquisite detail and innovation, called “Rock & Doll”. It was all about intense femininity, translated through unusual materials and flattering forms. Classic rock attitude, expressed through cold metal add-ins, chains and tattoo-inspired prints, was the key term in their fashion statements. The show ended up being glam rock, because each piece was embellished with shining gems or crystals. There was a great deal of transparency in the creations, articulated in modern drapes and tangled silk muslin fabrics. In a collection where clothes served as body accessories, Mi-Ro gave us a new hint of modern luxury. Volume buns by hairstylist Vang and MAC nude makeup gave extra points to the look. Annie Papadimitriou, famous for her textile prints used by globally known fashion designers such as Roberto Cavalli, offered her artistic touch to the collection. I especially liked the shape of the runway that ended into a circular, ring-like formation. It was quite impressive to see the models at the finale walking on this circular end of the runway. The two designers, very young but quite mature in their style were embraced warmly by the fashionable audience. Among them you could see another talented designer who has also participated in the previous London Fashion Week, Vrettos Vrettakos, and the most successful importer of international luxury brands, Lakis Gavalas. One of the most elegant ladies of the night was Natassa Liakounakou, dressed in an impressive Mi-Ro dress.
