For Spring/Summer 2014 Monique Lhuillier – my favorite American eveningwear designer – presented a collection full of bright feminine colors, interesting textures, glamorous embroidery, and boldly-colored lace. She introduced separates in evening wear and substituted cocktail dresses with charming lace ensembles. Her lines were fluid and sleek and the emphasis was placed on precious decoration and smart details such as cut-outs, strategically placed draping, and lace collars. She added fresh elements such as the bandeaus or cropped tops in combination with maxi full skirts or midi ones.
Her favorite color combo was pink or magenta with bright, warm orange but she also went full on glam neutrals, pale gold, blush, and white. She covered the shoulders with seductive lace, made asymmetrical flowing hems, and took the florals to the next level! What we saw at the MB Fashion Week in NYC was a super chic fairytale collection with a modern twist!
