For Spring/Summer 2014, Nanette Lepore deviates from the natural path of technology mixed with female sensitivity, choosing softer, more natural fabrics and molding them into modern romantic silhouettes. Along with bright colors, she engulfs neutrals, especially blush and white. She introduces key pieces such as the mesh sweater, the slip adorned with frills, the transparent lace top, and the Bermuda shorts. Her dresses are cute, candid and ethereal. They are decorated with lace and fine embroidery.
Monochromatic looks are the majority of the collection. That said, we can’t deny the powerful presence of interesting prints. She uses light pink leather to add some element of luxury, and in that sense she coincides with many other designers who love pink leather this season. The silhouettes are organic and simple with interesting details, which are more of a practical nature. There are beautiful loose-form suits in this collection, which point to the fact that women should feel comfortable at work. This time Nanette loves asymmetrical hems, little peplums, and all things super feminine, but at the same time she creates an adaptation of the romantic look to modern reality, staying loyal to her signature edgy style!
