Designer August Getty showed his second collection on the runway at New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. Extensive use of supple black leather, daring slits and plunging necklines, dark yet shimmering brocades, crop tops, bandeaus and bralettes, accentuated forms, structure and fluidity, severity and femininity, all inhabited the same collection targeting the fashion-savvy hipsters, models, and young girls drawn towards effortless or rebellious luxury. The designer’s urban aesthetics prove to have incredible potential. The pieces are edgy and opulent at the same time; not bread and butter for those seeking decency and safety!
The show featured hair by Eugene Souleiman, make-up by Kabuki for MAC Cosmetics, nails by Keri Blair for MAC Cosmetics, styling by Joanne Blades, casting by Julia Samersova/Cast Inc., and music by Michel Gaubert (N.O.I.S.E.).
