NYFW FW19: Laurence & Chico Present Thai-Inspired Excellence!

It was playful, magical, eclectic, and aesthetically perfect! Models with signature enormous wigs and super sleek & slim skirt ensembles welcomed us on board of a flight to Thailand! The music was fun and uplifting, the clothes so well-made and intriguing! As always this is my most fave show of the week!

Laurence & Chico’s Fall/Winter 2019 is inspired by the designer duo’s recent trip to Thailand. Thai culture and cuisine are reflected in the collection through the use of bold colors, intricate beading and embroidery. Silhouettes reflecting traditional Thai garments are reinterpreted with the Laurence & Chico touch of humor and whimsy.

Makeup was dramatic and sparkly with lots of metallic shades, darkness, light, rhinestone embellishments, and decadent details.

There were the signature elements they master such as tiered ruffle tulle, feather-style trims, pearls, tweeds, and a great interplay of volumes.

The looks cross any boundaries and of course gender lines, depicting the edgy aspect of femininity in a very artisanal way. There is excellent manipulation of materials and statement accessories.

Sky-high heels, big hair, and styling overall feel so cool. The designers also created bold looks in denim, striped and floral motifs. They are detail-obsessed in the best way!
