NY-based womenswear designer Raul Solis showcased LRS’ Spring/Summer 2017 collection to a thrilled crowd at Rumpus Room in The Lower East Side of Manhattan. With what can only be described as an intentional breaking of the rules, Solis defied “normal” conventions to celebrate individuality, sexuality and practicality. Solis derived his inspiration from the outrageous club kid culture, rave scenes, and as always, the rebellious woman. Solis gives women the strength, integrity and guts to wear cutting-edge ideas turned into garments with minimalist designs and a high-end quality.
Working together with Style Duo Lisa Cera and Tyler J McDaniel, the John Paul Ataker Spring/Summer 2017 collection chose the obvious accessory, The Misaki Jewelry Pearl Collection as the perfect accessory to subtly and elegantly compliment their runway looks. This season John Paul Ataker took us back to ancient Assyrian culture, inspiring classically modern prints and sculpted shapes that create an elegantly tailored silhouette to enhance the feminine form. The 2017 color palette ranges from light salmon, lavender, and sky blue hues to argil browns. Effortlessly refined pastels, noble prints and opulent references stem from Ishtar, the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon! The sexy & sophisticated shoes complimenting the looks were designed by Charles David and Joyce Echols.
Jasmine Chong was a rather interesting presentation with modern ethereal outfits in neutral hues, edgy nail art, and sculptural braided looks!
Marcel Ostertag also presented his Spring/Summer 2017 in the official calendar of the NYFW. In cooperation with the DHL Exported Programme, Marcel Ostertag is the first German designer to have obtained a two-season contract with IMG International, and has previously shown in New York in February 2016. The special feature of the spring/summer collection is playing with lightness. The combination of light, nearly weightless chiffon qualities are combined with colorful pink, green, and sky blue hues which are a nod to his inspriation of the season: air. “Air. Everything is inspired by the lightness and breath of air,” he says.
