Street Style Vibes for 2018!

I just want to give you a scoop of what’s going on right now on the streets. They are definitely colorful, shiny, and fluffy mostly because fashionistas mix & match impossible textures together in a very inspiring way. There is great mix of high with low, glam with casual, past with new collections. Some it girls even bring forth vintage styles that look so cool and sexy!

The Classics

Any type of Chanel bag – especially the most forgotten and unexpected – can be combined with online stores’ latest offerings. Another classic brand to be adopted in any past style is Gucci. If you have a velvet one, then even better. Shades of green are hugely coveted in this category. Don’t forget your old Louis Vuittons and Fendis, if in great condition!

The Latest

So Gucci has a great range of color combos and insists on putting out there more fashionable belt bags. Yet Alessandro Michelle’s latest favorite is the Ophidia shoulder bag with a retro chain strap. Industrial straps seen in Off-White, Givenchy, and Gucci are also a great trend. They are logoed and embroidered but far away from the rock & roll feel of the previously coveted guitar straps. Fur straps are also a major trend, as well as any kind of fur accent. Some of the straps are interchangeable, and styles from Sacai and Anya Hindmarch are transformable, consisting of various parts that connect and disconnect in different ways.

Outerwear

This street style season is not only about purses. Outerwear is important too because this is all that is visible when you walk in chilly weather. Most of the outerwear pieces are volumey and a sufficient protection from the elements. Check oversize coats are definitely a must-have. Shoulders are accentuated through pads and length varies. The other category to go extra big is shearling coats in bold hues. Curly lamb and sheepskin are offering a cozy layer option. Finally, think of a cool raincoat or anorak. It can be transparent or shiny and colored, depending on your personal style and mood.

References

Designers reference pop culture and history of exotic civilizations. They love of course Asia because it is a great part of their market. They also love street art, especially graffiti. Some of them go retro – 60s, 70s, and 80s – while others are totally futuristic. Athleisure is surely and enduring trend, since various brands continue to monetize their knack for luxuriating and glamorizing activewear.

The Romantic Factor

Chiara Ferragni recently – at the Couture Shows in Paris – showed off her romantic self. The flirtiness of her outfits made fashion insiders swoon. Italian girls are into romantic glamour. Sheerness is part of the game but it usually comes as an illusion. Ballet-inspired tulle dresses with delicate straps are combined with luxe fluffy coats.

Combat Boots

This wild spirit of you can finally be expressed through shoe trends. Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and model girls embrace combat boots combined with leggings, jeans, roomy puffers, and slouchy sweaters. The military trend applies also to coats and jackets. They make a girly dress look edgy. They can get combined with massive lettering in accessories – especially purses – as a fashion rebel’s act.

Green

It’s a very hard color to pull off, especially at its most natural leafy shades. Think of broccoli shade and try to mix & match it with your essentials. It sounds definitely as a challenge. Yet stylists are giving as a clue by combining it with neutrals. They also find hope in mixing it with on-trend pinks and reds. And they dress it up through metallics, lurex sweaters, and sequined stunners as a nod to the 80s. Beyond the deep shades, mint green is taking over the fashion world in its subtlest beauty. This is totally the new neutral. Stay tuned for more trends!
