I totally agree with Lynn Hirschberg’s comment that “The nuclear four has, thankfully, exploded into an endless array of familial combinations” and that “it is a wonderful, radical evolution that defies political affiliations”. 32-year-old, all-American actress Katherine Heigl and her two-year-old Korean daughter, Naleigh are indeed the new normal. W magazine presented this extremely interesting issue through this charming cover photo, full of the beauty of love and generosity. I also praise the article’s conclusion that “adopted” should be abandoned as a qualifying prefix. There is a huge, precious bond among or between the members of every type of family. Examples do not come only from the so-called “sometimes superficial” world of celebrities. Ordinary people with not so “ordinary” families are really happy just because they offer happiness…
Σιγά-σιγά αλλάζει το μοντέλο της παραδοσιακής οικογένειας χωρίς όμως να φθίνει η αξία της προσφοράς και της γενναιοδωρίας προς τα καινούρια μέλη της. Υιοθετημένο ή μη ένα παιδί είναι σημαντικό για τον γονιό, όποιος κι αν είναι αυτός, ό,τι σχήμα κι αν έχει η οικογένεια που έχει χτίσει. Δεν χρειάζεται μια οικογένεια να αποτελείται απαραίτητα από ένα μπαμπά, μία μαμά και δύο παιδιά ίδιας καταγωγής και προέλευσης, για να είναι ευτυχισμένη και αποδεκτή. Ας το ξεπεράσουμε αυτό. Εντυπωσιακό, πρόσφατο παράδειγμα είναι η Αμερικανίδα ηθοποιός Katherine Heigl και η υιοθετημένη κορούλα της από την Κορέα που μεγαλώνει μαζί με τον σύντροφό της Josh Kelley.
