Marco Rambaldi’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, unveiled during Milan Fashion Week, is not just a fashion statement—it’s a poignant tribute to memory, motherhood (in all its forms), and the delicate act of preserving tradition while daring to reinvent it. Titled “Memoria Futura”, the collection feels like a love letter to chosen families, queer lineages, and the wisdom passed down from grandmothers, artists, and matriarchs—both real and imagined.
Crochet becomes both a literal and metaphorical thread throughout the show. Pieces crafted with tricot techniques, vintage-inspired knitwear, and hand-stitched detailing resurrect classic Granny’s Squares and transform them into innovative silhouettes.
Rambaldi draws on the spirit of Ars Aemilia, an Italian institution dedicated to preserving local crafts, to deliver garments that feel steeped in emotion and lived experience.
The runway unfolds like a diary of memories stitched into garments—printed mesh with trompe-l’oeil effects mimics the texture of traditional knit, while Argyle and Icelandic-inspired patterns reappear as familial symbols, newly interpreted.
Collaborations, like the one with textile house Isa Seta, help turn these visions into rich jacquard fil coupé fabrics, blurring the line between fashion and storytelling.
This season, Rambaldi’s designs are imbued with unapologetic femininity and strength. With references to historical female figures like Lea Vergine and cultural works like Morgana by Michela Murgia and Chiara Tagliaferri, the collection doesn’t just dress bodies—it uplifts narratives that often go unheard.
